Car rental insurance, explained before you book

Every AutoKefalonia rental includes standard insurance, CDW and Theft Protection. The important part is understanding your excess, the optional Full Damage Waiver, and the exclusions that still apply.
Included

Standard CDW + Theft Protection

Included in the rental price. CDW limits your normal damage liability instead of leaving you responsible for the full vehicle value.
Excess

EUR 600 / EUR 900 liability

With standard CDW, the excess is up to EUR 600 for A/B/C cars and up to EUR 900 for larger/special classes, when the rental terms are followed.
Optional

Full Damage Waiver

Add F.D.W. to reduce the standard CDW excess to zero: EUR 10/day for A/B/C cars or EUR 20/day for larger/special cars. Exclusions still apply.
Not covered

Tyres, underside, mirrors, interior

Insurance does not cover excluded cases such as tyres, underside, mirrors, interior, wrong fuel, traffic-law violations, unauthorized drivers, alcohol/drugs, or inappropriate roads.

The plain-English rule

If you drive normally on suitable roads and follow the rental contract, your risk is limited by the insurance option you choose. If the damage comes from excluded use, the waiver may not apply.
Check the car at pickup and report existing marks.
Use the correct fuel and stay on appropriate roads.
Only declared drivers are insured.

Quick insurance questions

Yes. Standard insurance, CDW and Theft Protection are included in the rental price.

It reduces the standard CDW excess to zero for normal covered damage, subject to the rental terms and exclusions.

No. Tyres, underside, mirrors, interior, wrong fuel, traffic-law violations, unauthorized drivers, alcohol/drugs and inappropriate roads are still excluded.

A credit card may be required at pickup. Some A/B/C rentals may be possible without one if the rental value and cash deposit are advanced, then returned after the car is checked.
